Did you know?

Utah became the 45th state on January 4, 1896. Salt Lake City is Utah’s capital and has been since it joined the union. Utah’s Great Salt Lake is the largest saltwater lake in the western hemisphere. It is located in the northern part of Utah. The lake is a large remnant of Lake Bonneville, which is a lake that once covered most of western Utah. At its peak, Lake Bonneville covered 22,400 square miles. It was almost the same size as Lake Michigan. The part of the lake that has diminished is called The Dead Sea. The Dead Sea has been shrinking slowly but surely for years. As it recedes, the freshwater diffuses into salt deposits and causes sinkholes. On the bright side, if you’re swallowed by a sinkhole, they’ll name it after you.
