The first diamond was found in 1906 by John Huddleston, in Arizona. Huddleston discovered the first couple of diamonds when spreading rock salt throughout his hog farm. When he first saw the shiny specks in the ground, he thought they might be gold. When he found the two stones he had them examined in New York, which is when he was told they were in fact real.
