Did you know?

Before Kentucky became a state it was a county located in Virginia. It wasn’t until June of 1792 that Virginia finally gave Kentucky the “okay” to become its own state, that’s when it became our 15th state. Kentucky and Virginia being combined was a bit of a conundrum for Kentuckians because it was a lot harder for them to travel to the state capital.
In the war of 1812 over half of the deaths were Americans from Kentucky. Not a single Kentuckian that passed over the picket line happened to return. 64% of the 2,260 deaths came from this state alone, making it the toughest on this particular state.
